Therapy for Anxiety in New York City
Services available virtually throughout NY and NJ
Anxiety can affect much more than our thoughts. It can influence how we feel, behave, relate to others, sleep, and move through our daily lives. Persistent worry, racing thoughts, physical tension, difficulty concentrating, irritability, or a constant sense of being on edge can make it difficult to feel present and at ease.
Therapy provides a supportive, nonjudgmental space to better understand your anxiety and the patterns that may be contributing to it. Together, we can explore the underlying causes of anxiety, develop tools to manage overwhelming thoughts and emotions, and build greater confidence in navigating life’s challenges. Therapy can help you feel more grounded, regain a sense of control, and move toward a life that feels more manageable and fulfilling.

There are several effective therapy approaches for anxiety, and treatment is tailored to each person’s unique needs and goals. Two commonly used approaches are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). CBT focuses on identifying and changing unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that can contribute to anxiety. ACT helps you develop a different relationship with anxious thoughts and feelings by practicing acceptance, mindfulness, and taking meaningful action based on your values. Together, these approaches can help you better understand your anxiety, build practical coping skills, and move toward a life that feels more fulfilling and aligned with what matters most to you.

My fee is $250 for a 45-minute individual therapy session. I am an out-of-network provider, which means I do not bill insurance companies directly. However, depending on your insurance plan, you may have out-of-network mental health benefits that allow you to receive reimbursement for a portion of your session fee. I recommend contacting your insurance provider to ask about your specific out-of-network benefits, deductible, reimbursement rate, and any required documentation.
Working with an out-of-network therapist can also offer greater flexibility and choice in finding a therapist who is the right fit for your needs, rather than being limited to a specific insurance network. It may also provide more flexibility in the therapeutic process and the type of care you receive. If helpful, I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
